Finally…A Natural Deodorant That Can Handle Real Life

This deodorant has been a long time coming.

I first began experimenting with natural deodorant about 10 years ago. At the time, I was unhappy with both traditional store-bought deodorants and their natural counterparts. The conventional ones didn’t feel good to use, and many of the natural ones simply didn’t work well enough.

Here’s the truth: I sweat. Sometimes I sweat a lot.
Not to be gross—just honest.

If I’m going to use a natural deodorant, it needs to actually do the job. I wanted something that would keep me fresh and comfortable all day, even during hot summers, busy workdays, and everything in between.

So I started experimenting.

What followed was years of trial and error…and yes, a fair amount of stinking through hot summers while I tested different formulas.

But eventually, I got there.

I’ve finally developed a deodorant that holds up to my demanding pits! And honestly, if it works for me, there’s a very good chance it will work for you too.

Why Magnesium?

One of the key ingredients in my deodorant is magnesium hydroxide.

When I first started researching it, I had questions too. But it turns out that magnesium is actually a fantastic ingredient for natural deodorant.

Magnesium helps inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria on the skin. That means it tackles the source of the smell without blocking your body’s natural processes.

And that’s important.

Your body needs to sweat. Sweating is one of the ways your body regulates temperature and releases toxins. I’m not trying to stop that natural process—I just don’t want the odor that comes with it.

That’s where the rest of the ingredients come in.

  • Arrowroot powder helps absorb some moisture and keep things feeling dry.

  • Shea butter soothes and nourishes the skin.

  • Natural oils and waxes create a smooth, easy-to-apply formula.

Together, they create a deodorant that works with your body, not against it.

Making the switch

When people switch from conventional deodorant to a natural one, there’s often a short adjustment period. This is completely normal and happens because your body is shifting away from ingredients that block sweat and suppress bacteria.

Most traditional deodorants and antiperspirants use ingredients like aluminum that plug the sweat glands to prevent sweating. When you stop using them, your body begins to return to its natural process of sweating and balancing the skin under your arms.

During this transition, a few things can happen:

1. Your body may sweat more at first
Your sweat glands have been partially blocked for a long time. Once that blockage is gone, your body may release more sweat temporarily while things rebalance.

2. Odor may seem stronger for a little while
Odor isn’t caused by sweat itself—it’s caused by bacteria that feed on sweat. As your skin’s natural microbiome adjusts, the balance of bacteria can shift, which can temporarily make odor more noticeable.

3. Your skin’s pH is rebalancing
The underarm area has its own natural pH and microbial environment. Conventional products can disrupt that balance, so when you switch to natural deodorant, your body may take a few days to a couple of weeks to find its natural equilibrium again.

The good news is that once this adjustment period passes, many people find that their body settles into a much healthier rhythm. They often sweat a more normal amount, and natural deodorant works very effectively at controlling odor.

A few simple tips can help during the transition:

  • Wash your underarms regularly with a gentle soap. Here’s a great one to start with : Tea Tree Oil

  • Apply deodorant to clean, dry skin. Purchase Attagirl Deodorant here

  • Give your body a little time to adjust

  • Stay hydrated and eat well (your skin reflects your overall health)

Most people find that after the adjustment period, natural deodorant works beautifully—keeping them fresh while allowing their body to do what it was designed to do: sweat naturally.

Why People Love It

Over the years I’ve had both men and women tell me how much they appreciate this deodorant.

Many of them had the same experience I did—they tried natural deodorants before and felt disappointed by the results.

That’s why it makes me especially happy to offer something that people say actually works and makes a real difference in their daily routine.

What You Won’t Find in It

Attagirl Soaps Deodorant DOES NOT contain:

  • Aluminum

  • Baking soda

  • Preservatives

  • Artificial fragrances

And all of my deodorants are completely vegan.

How to Use It

This deodorant is simple to apply and a little goes a long way.

Use the applicator stick to scoop out a pea-sized amount and place it under your arm.

Lower your arm for a moment and let the small ball of deodorant soften and melt slightly from your body heat. Then gently massage it into the underarm area.

If you notice any white marks on clothing, it usually means too much was used or it wasn’t fully rubbed in, so start small and work it in well.

You may also want to allow it to absorb for a minute or two before dressing.

For me, one application in the morning lasts all day.

Natural living doesn’t have to mean compromising on things that work. Sometimes it just takes a little patience, experimentation, and a willingness to do things the old-fashioned way.

And in this case… it took about ten years.

But I think it was worth it.
