Natural Deodorant, aluminum and baking soda free, Vegan

from $5.50

This deodorant has been a long time coming! I first began to experiment with it about 10 years ago. I was unhappy with both traditional store-bought deodorant and their natural counterparts. I sweat. Sometimes, I sweat a lot. Not to be gross, just saying I need a good deodorant that keeps me dry and stink-free. It’s taken a lot of experimentation, lots of trial and error, and lots of stinking through hot summers to find the right recipe.
I have finally developed a deodorant that holds up to my demanding pits! And if it works for me, it’ll work for you!

Attagirl Soaps Deodorant contains no aluminum, baking soda, preservatives or artificial fragrances.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Effective odor protection using magnesium

  • Gentle enough for everyday use

  • Vegan, plant-based, and cruelty-free

  • No aluminum, baking soda, or artificial fragrances—ever

Directions

  • Use the applicator stick to scoop out a small pea size amount and apply under the arm.

  • Lower your arm and let the little ball of deodorant sit there for a second and melt.

  • Then rub the deodorant around the underarm area.

  • A little goes a long way so use sparingly.

  • I find that if I use too much or don’t massage it in good there tends to be white on my dark clothing.

  • Make sure to start with just a little, like a pea or dime size, and massage in well. I only find white on my clothing if I had used too much.

  • You may want to let it absorb in a few minutes before dressing if you notice any residue on your shirt.

One application in the morning lasts me all day but everyone and every situation is different. You can use a second application later in the day if needed.

Making the switch:

When people switch from conventional deodorant to a natural one, there’s often a short adjustment period. This is completely normal and happens because your body is shifting away from ingredients that block sweat and suppress bacteria.

Most traditional deodorants and antiperspirants use ingredients like aluminum that plug the sweat glands to prevent sweating. When you stop using them, your body begins to return to its natural process of sweating and balancing the skin under your arms.

A few simple tips can help during the transition:

  • Wash your underarms regularly with a gentle soap (check out my shampoo bars here and my body bars here)

  • Apply deodorant to clean, dry skin

  • Give your body a little time to adjust

  • Stay hydrated and eat well (your skin reflects your overall health)

Ingredients

Arrowroot powder, magnesium hydroxide, shea butter, avocado oil, coconut oil, candelilla wax, essential oils

Some people who have never used anything but store-bought deodorant may need several days, or weeks, to adapt to this natural kind. It takes a little bit for your body to readjust its ph and mellow out.
